PARIS – Tour Septentrion // non construit

France - Paris 1997 Commission

In order to rehabilitate the Septentrion Tower, at La Défense (Paris), the project proceeded by enveloping the tower with a large prismatic volume, allowing the original building to remain visible. Additional floors and an atrium have also been added.

For this building, originally built in the 60’s, it was also necessary to widen the floors, remove the asbestos, and rethink the facades, and their thermal characteristics.

This project follows by one year the conception of the LVMH Tower, in New York, and develops further some of the concepts utilized at this time.
