PEKIN – Quartier Logistic Port // non construit

In this large district of Beijing, the aim is to counteract the effect of the condominiums, which commonly shut the public spaces out and offer no means of evolution. One must also work around the severe law on exposure to sunlight, which too often results in spaced out, parallel building blocks. The project sets a lengthways park at the center of the streets network thus creating multiple entries, while open blocks respect both prospects and the law on exposure to sunlight. Several architects then intervene in the design of the blocks so that they can be bought and sold in part.
