Situated on avenue de Wagram in Paris, France, this new hotel occupies the site of the old Empire Theatre and is characterised by the interplay of undulating horizontal glass bands that seem to form a large interwoven glazed plait. These bay windows provide rooms with views over the Arc de Triomphe, place de l’Etoile and avenue des Ternes from the hotel rooms. The first two floors of the building are occupied by stores.

A large porch opens perspectives onto a sloping interior garden which leads to the Salle Wagram, a performance space built here in the 19th century, the facade of which has been reworked by Christian de Portzamparc, making the hall visible and accessible from the street and opening up the hotel building to the heart of the block.
